The Copenhagen Climate Conference: Outcomes and Implications (4 February 2010)
The 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference held in December in Copenhagen may not have delivered a firm agreement on international emission management for the post-Kyoto era, but it did confirm a high level of political support for effective action. It culminated in the Copenhagen Accord which, while only ‘noted’ in the final COP outcome and therefore not binding, may be considered the first step towards a new treaty.
